1/4 vs. 1/2 tubing

I would like to install an irrigation system in my raised bed vegetable garden.  The soil is like potting soil.  There are 8 boxes, each 8 foot by 4 foot.  I will use a 1/2 inch line between the boxes but Should I consider the 1/4 or 1/2 inch drip line?  I am assuming that the drip irrigation would be the most flexible year to year.  I will also need to run the system to each bed.  I would like to have a shut off at each bed since not all bed have plants all year.

1/2 inch line - t valve - 1/2 inch line to next box
                         ()
                 Shut off valve
                         ()
              1/2  or 1/4 Inch drip?
                         ()
                    End plug

Does this illustration look correct?

Do you sell a water sensor so that system will not run if it has rained?

Either will work.  You can run up to Run up to 30ft lead in  of our 1/2" Poly Tubing installing up to 240ft of our 1/2" In-Line Drip Tubing
(MLD-HDT100) with a built in 1gph PC Dripper every 12 inches.  OR  Run up to 300ft of our 1/2" Poly Tubing and connecting up to 12 runs that are each up to 33ft of our 1/4"In-Line Drip Tubing (MLD-QDT100) with a built in .5 gph Dripper every 12 inches. OR install our Drippers directly into the 1/2" Poly.
I am assuming that the drip irrigation would be the most flexible year to year.  I will also need to run the system to each bed.  I would like to have a shut off at each bed since not all bed have plants all year.

1/2 inch line - t valve(use our 1/2" Poly Tee MLF-34) - 1/2 inch line to next box
                         ()
Shut off valve (Use our MLT-POLYBVA)
                         ()
1/2  or 1/4 Inch drip? (Either will work or to customize your system and place the dripper
exactly where you want it you could use our 1/2" Poly Tubing with inserting our drippers using the punch tool MLA-TOOL)
()  When using the 1/2" Poly or 1/2" In Line Drip tubing use either our 1/2" End Crimper MLA-50 or our 1/2" Poly End Fitting with removable Cap MLF-ENDCAP
                    End plug

Do you sell a water sensor so that system will not run if it has rained? Not currently.
