This Toilet Supply Line Plug with 7/8-in Male Ballcock threads is used for temporarily sealing end of toilet supply line while the water valve at the wall is shut off. Many of these water valves coming through the wall suppling water to the toilet tend to leak even when they are turned off.
To use, first turn off the water Valve located on the wall near the toilet by turning the handle to the right until hand tightened. Next drain the Toilet tank by flushing the toilet. Now place a small bucket or bowl under the toilet’s tank where the water intake is located to catch any water left in the tank after flushing. Next unthread the toilet supply line fitting attached to the toilet fill valve at the bottom of the toilet’s tank. Now thread into this fitting the red Toilet Supply Line Plug to stop any leaking coming from the closed wall valve.
Now you are able to service the tank and repair or replace the toilet fill valve. Once you’re done with the repairs simply unthread the red Toilet Supply Line Plug and thread the end of the line back onto the toilet fill valve at the bottom of the toilet tank hand tight. The Last step is to turn the wall valve back on.
RECOMMENDATIONS & LIMITATIONS
When repairing toilet fill valves be sure to follow manufacturer's directions.
When turning off and on water valves coming off the wall near the toilet be careful not to pull or torque too hard causing damage to the valve.
If the valve breaks or starts leaking water at the connection or wall, you will more than likely need to turn off your homes main water supply coming into the house.
